In the January 2009 edition of “Real Workplace Issues,” we detailed a revised Form I-9 which employers were supposed to begin using on February 2, 2009. On January 30, 2009, however, The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced an implementation delay until April 3, 2009.
What to Do: Between now and April 3, 2009, employers should continue to use the current Form I-9
