New York City Pregnancy Discrimination: Notice Requirement Reminder with Model Notices
January 2014
Effective January 30, 2014, employers are required to provide their employees with notice informing them of their rights under the New York City Pregnant Workers Fairness (the “Act”). The Act was detailed in last month’s issue of our newsletter.
The New York City Commission on Human Rights, the body that will administer the new Act, has released a model notice that employers can provide each employee to fulfill the requirements. Alternatively, the Commission has also released a model poster. In order to satisfy the requirements, the poster must be posted prominently where it can be readily be seen.
