Several states and localities are raising their minimum wages in 2023. The new minimum wages came into effect on January 1, 2023, unless otherwise noted. These wages do not apply to tipped employees.
Below is a list of minimum hourly wages increases in select jurisdictions. Let us know if you need information about jurisdictions not listed.
California

The California salary basis threshold for the executive, administrative, and professional employees will increase to $64,480 annually (or $5,373.33 monthly).

Please note that only major cities are listed. Major cities with a minimum wage of $15.50 have been excluded, as it is the same amount as the state.

New York State Salary Rate Increases
The New York salary basis threshold for the executive, administrative, and professional employees will increase as follows:
- New York State (excluding NYC, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties): $1,064.25 per week (or $55,341 annually).
- New York City and Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties will retain the prior rate of $1,125 per week (or $58,500 annually).
